Terms of Service

The service is operated by Digital Search Group Limited (company number 06950800), registered at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, trading as Carbon Verified (CarbonVerified.org).

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Carbon Verified provides website carbon emissions assessments using the CO2.js library (Sustainable Web Design Methodology v4), PageSpeed data and Core Web Vitals. All carbon figures published by the service are modelled estimates of website data transfer, not direct measurements.

Paid plans are billed monthly in GBP. The trial plan is free with an account and limited to a homepage-only test on one website.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. No refunds are given for partial billing periods.

A subscription buys assessments, the action plan and access to the review process. Verification is only issued when a reviewer approves your evidence. A subscription never buys verification.

If a reviewer approves your verification application, you receive a verification badge valid for 12 months from the issue date. You may display the badge on the verified website using the embed code we provide.

The badge licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable and limited to the verified website. We may revoke the badge if the verification is found to be based on inaccurate information, if the website changes materially, or if the badge is misused. You agree to use the service in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use. In particular, you may only submit websites you own or are authorised to assess.

The Carbon Verified name, logo and badge designs are the property of Digital Search Group Limited. You may use the verification badge only as described in section 5 and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Assessment results and reports provided through the service are for your internal use. You may share your public verification profile link, which is designed for public display.

The service is provided on an "as is" basis. Carbon figures are modelled estimates and should not be relied upon as precise measurements of actual emissions.

To the extent permitted by law, Digital Search Group Limited shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You can close your account at any time by contacting privacy@carbonverified.org. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

On termination, your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice at /privacy.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
